Do you like ice cream? Do you like reading? Well if the answer is yes to either, then here is a chance to do both. Students who read a total of 150 minutes over Spring Break will receive an ice cream treat. Forms MUST be returned by April 12, 2023.

The TES talent show will take place on March 27th at 5:30. The event will take place in the school cefeteria.

Pre-K to College Sweepstakes:  DECAL and Georgia’s Pre-K Program are partnering with the Path2College 529 Plan, the official college savings plan for the state of Georgia, to sponsor this year’s Pre-K to college sweepstakes. Four children from across the state will be randomly selected to win a $1,529.00 contribution for their Path2College 529 Plan.  The four Pre-K programs that the winners attend will also win a $1,529.00 check made payable to their Pre-K program.   The deadline to enter is March 31, 2023.

During the week of March 6-10, the Treutlen County Elementary school will be celebrating Read Across America week. This is a week dedicated to to helping our students to get busy reading. There will be a theme for each day to help encourage students to read.

Our Lady Vikings and Boys Basketball teams made the state playoffs.  Our Lady Vikings will be playing in Montgomery County on Tuesday at 6:30. Our Boys Basketball team will be playing in Portal at 6:00 on Wednesday. Congratulations to both teams.  Tickets must be purchased thru GoFan at both sites. Once again congratulations to Coach Coney and Coach Strickland.  It is a great day to be a Viking!

There will be an Exceptional Student Services Parent Advisory Council meeting on Thursday, February 23, 2023. The meeting will take place in the school cafeteria and will begin at 5:30.  Please make plans to attend.

On December 20, 2022, the Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Family & Children Services began issuing Summer P-EBT. These benefits cover the 2022 summer month time frame for free and reduced meal program eligible children.

TES Literacy Night will be held on December 8th @ 5:30 at the Old High School Gym. This will be a fun-filled night where you can learn new ways to support your child at home with building phonemics, vocabulary and sight words, reading comprehension, and writing skills. This event will include a play, Christmas Carols, fun literacy games, free food and FREE BOOKS! Please join us for this event as we celebrate the holiday season and all the joy reading can bring. There may even be a special appearance by Santa!

Our number one goal is to provide the very best educational opportunities for our students. You can be a big help in making this happen. We need your input to make our program better. The Emory Center for Autism will be conducting a Virtual Training for all parents of student with Autism. Parents and other caregivers are encouraged to attend to increase their understanding of best practices and supports to provide for their children with autism spectrum disorder in the
home. This training will include ideas to support children in grades K-12.

There will be a Title One Annual Meeting on October 18th at 6:00. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure all parents are knowledgeable about Title I programs and the opportunities available to students and families.

The Treutlen County School system will be holding an ESS Parent Night on September 13th at 5:30. If you are a parent or guardian of a student that has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), then please make plans to attend. The meeting will take place in the school cafeteria.

The School Improvement Forum will be held on 05/24/22 at 1:00 p.m. at TMHS and TES schools.  We would like to invite all parents and community partners to this event.  We encourage everyone to share ideas for school improvement.  Your input is very much appreciated.

The next and possibly the final day of Pre-K registration for the 2022-23 school year will be held in-person, by appointment, on Monday, May 9. We are excited to announce a wonderful opportunity for your child! This summer Treutlen County Schools will be hosting two summer camps.
Camp activities include sporting activities such as football, soccer, basketball, cheerleading as well as math and reading academic activities. Camps will be held during the month of June from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm Monday through Thursday. Students will receive both breakfast and lunch

The lady Vikings will host Towns County on Monday, April 18th at 5:30 for the second round of the state playoffs. Tickets can only be bought on-line at the official website. No tickets will be available at the gate. Only Official GHSA Passes will be accepted at the gate. So please visit the site and get your tickets to the games. We want the stands packed and loud. Calling all TCS Artists! The Treutlen County School's SkillsUSA will be hosting an Art Show on May 6th. This show will display art from any student, staff or alumni of the Treutlen County School system. Submit any art work that has been produced within the last year to Mrs. Alison Cox or drop off at the front office. There is a limit of 3 items per person.  Each items must include first & last name, grade, and title. Any medium accepted (paint, crayon, mixed media, digital, etc.) All submissions are due by April 13th. Everyone is invited to attend the art show from 6:30-8:00. Admission is $3.00.

On March 30th the Treutlen County School system will be hosting a Parent and Student night for all students in grades 8-12. Please come out and join THS staff as we share curriculum updates and provide ways to succeed in high school. Information will also be shared about 8th graders transition to high school. Door prizes will be provided. We encourage all students and parents to attend. We encourage parents to continue to provide input in their child's education.

Since 2020, children, birth to five years old, in Treutlen County have been receiving free age-appropriate books and literacy resources monthly from the Ferst Readers program. This has been made possible through the efforts of the local volunteer Community Action Team and the Treutlen County Board of Education. Ferst Readers has provided over 1,400 books to Treutlen County children. Parents of students with a disability are asked to complete a survey for the Treutlen County Board of Education and the Georgia Department of Education. In order for all students to graduate prepared to achieve a lifetime of success, families need to be an important part of the school team. It is critical that the GaDOE assist local school systems in partnering with families to raise the achievement rate for students with disabilities. Make plans to come out and meet with your student's teachers. A parent-teacher conference is a great opportunity to:

• share academic progress and growth based on classroom observations, testing data, assessments, portfolios, and assignments
• learn from parents or guardians so you can be better informed about students' strengths, needs, behaviors, and learning styles
• discuss enrichment or intervention strategies to support students' learning
• discuss issues that may be interfering with students' learning and growth

On December 6th, the Treutlen County Elementary School will be holding Family Literacy Night from 5:30-7:00PM.  The event will take place at the THS Basketball Gym next to Bobby Driggers Stadium. Please come out and enjoy Christmas performances from 1st-3rd grade students.  Free food, books, and literacy material will be provided to families.  Family Literacy Night is a great way to engage students and their parents in meaningful literacy activities while strengthening the partnership between school and home.  Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic: The Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS), in partnership with the Department of
Education (GaDOE), has been approved to offer the P-EBT program for the 2020-2021 school term. This program will provide the families of children who receive free and/or reduced lunch at school with additional financial assistance to buy groceries.

TES will be hosting a Family Math Night on November 18, from 5:15-6:30.  The purpose of the event is to provide families with a variety of resources to support mathematical learning at home.  Door Prizes and light refreshments will be provided. Thursday, November 11th  Treutlen Elementary School would like to show gratitude to our Veterans by handing out a small token of our appreciation. If you are a Veteran please stop by in front of the school between 8:30 and 10:30 to receive your gift and stay tuned to our Facebook page for a special message from our students. The Treutlen County High School FBLA will be conducting a Food Drive during the month of November. Please donate non-perishable food items to those in need during this Holiday season. Items can be placed in the box in the hallway or brought to Room #703.

Parents of students who attend Treutlen Elementary School and Treutlen Middle/High School are invited to attend the Annual Title I Meeting.  The meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. in the Treutlen County K-12 School Cafeteria.  Attendants will learn about the requirements of Title I and how parents can become more involved in their child’s education.

Have you heard the good news? SkillsUSA will be hosting a Homecoming Dance!   The dance will be held Saturday, October 23rd, outside the cafeteria area from 7:00 - 10:30pm. See Mrs. Alison in 504 for tickets.

Bus Driver Appreciation Day is Monday, October 18th. School Bus Safety Week will be October 18th-22nd. We truly appreciation of our bus drivers, monitors, substitute drivers and bus shop technician. They do a great job in transporting our students safely. 

Kindergarten plays a vital role in a child’s early growth and development.  Children learn to communicate and engage in literacy and mathematical skills, and also develop social and emotional skills. TES kindergarten classroom environments supports student’s learning and focus on building supportive and caring relationships. if you are interested in your child receiving the Covid19 vaccination, the Treutlen County Health Department will be at the school to provide those during Open House.  The local health department will be providing the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine to students 12 years of age and older (accompanied by a parent/guardian) between 2:30PM and 5:30 PM during open house Monday, Aug. 2, and Tuesday, August 3. Please speak to your child's doctor or medical provider prior to vaccination if you have any questions or concerns. Pfizer is a 2-dose vaccine separated by 21 days. The health department staff will return in 21 days to vaccinate those students that get the first dose during open house.  Consent forms and Emergency Use Authorization packets will be provided during the vaccination clinic.

The Department of Public Health wants to remind all parents that scoliosis screening is required for all students in the 6th and 8th
grades who attend public school in Georgia.  Scoliosis is a sideways curve of the spine. About 3% of children are affected by scoliosis. It can

On February 25th, the FCC unanimously adopted a Report and Order that established the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program, a $3.2 billion federal initiative to help lower the cost of high-speed internet for eligible households during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program was created by Congress in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021. Our students in the Treutlen County school system are eligible for this program. PBIS is a national program used to help students be successful in school. It is a program that focuses on positive behavioral  intervention. Treutlen Elementary School introduces students to their PBIS matrix. The expectations are:
